This training is based on research and evidence-based practices using the national model for building a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) on Tier 1 implementation. This framework improves and promotes positive school climate and safety by addressing student academic and social-emotional-behavioral (SEB) needs, which improves outcomes for all students.
This training will focus on exemplar practices for creating a sustainable MTSS-Behavior framework at the campus level. The training is available for campus teams or future Tier 1 Team district trainers. Teams should be made up of 4-7 members representative of the campus stakeholders. Teams must include an administrator, special educator, and general educators across most grades/subjects. Consider representation from other roles on the campus, such as counselor, LSSP, elective courses, safety personnel, and additional staff (i.e. custodial or lunch staff), who would be appropriate to include within the team. The entire team must attend all 3 days and the entire session each day. Please complete the linked Google form for the campus (1 form per team) or trainer profile (1 form per trainer) to ensure the entire team is accounted for during registration.
Campus teams will engage in activities that support the ten critical elements for Tier 1 Schoolwide Systems implementation of the MTSS-Behavior framework.
- Critical Tier 1 Elements: Team, Faculty Commitment, Discipline System, Data System, Schoolwide Expectations & Rules, Recognition System, Lesson Plans for Teaching Expectations, Implementation Plan, Classroom Systems, and Evaluation.
- Teams will have time as a team to begin work on each of the critical elements.
- Complete the baseline Benchmarks of Quality (BOQ) assessment for Tier 1.
- Build an action plan, based on the assessment, as a team to address the coming year's implementation work.
To attend this course as a campus team:
- Complete the Tier 1 Team Profile (1 per team).
- Administrator for team registers and pays $105 for the entire team.
- Once the profile and team payment is received the remaining team members receive a promo code to register.
- Incomplete teams or missing Tier 1 Team Profiles will result in removal from the course.
